CK Solution announced on the 9th that it has successfully secured a major equipment and facility contract for LG Energy Solution’s electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing plant located in Lansing, Michigan, USA.

Under this agreement, CK Solution will be responsible for the mechanical facility utility and hook-up engineering sectors. The contract is valued at approximately 29.9 billion KRW.

The Lansing plant was originally broken ground to produce EV batteries for General Motors (GM). However, following LG Energy Solution's final acquisition of GM's stake, the facility was officially integrated as LG Energy Solution's third standalone battery manufacturing plant in North America. The plant is strategically slated to mass-produce pouch-type batteries to supply the Japanese automotive giant, Toyota.

In the North American region, CK Solution has been actively demonstrating its top-tier execution capabilities through major high-profile projects, including:

• StarPlus Energy: The joint venture plant between Samsung SDI and Stellantis in Indiana.

• L-H Battery: The joint venture project between LG Energy Solution and Honda in Ohio.

   

Beyond the secondary battery sector, the company is successfully executing diverse clean energy projects, such as the Hanwha Qcells solar module plant project in Georgia. Moving forward, CK Solution aims to expand its participation in various industrial production line construction projects across multiple states, including Virginia and Michigan.
